Blue Tigers Win U18 Presidents Cup

The QSC Blue Tigers won the U18F EPYSA Presidents Cup Title on Saturday May 18, 2019 at the United Sports Complex in Downingtown.

It’s a special thing to win one title but this is the 3rd Cup title for the ‘Tigers’. They won an Indoor Cup State Title in 2014, the Challenge Cup championship in 2017 to go along with this years title. The girls now advance to the Region 1 Presidents Cup Tournament, June 14-16 in West Virginia.

The Blue Tigers are sizing up to be one of the best teams in QSC history and are a credit to the hard work, communication and pure love of the game all players should aspire.

ROSTER:  Samantha Barkholz, Jordyn Basile, Stephanie Beinhauer, Madeleine Drennan, Brenna Foster, Haley Hangey, Sierra Lee, Kristi Mease, Cori Pursel, Allyson Radzai, Madison Rawling, Natalie Reilly, Audrey Schweizerhof and Madelyn Spadafora

GAME RECAP:

The teams were tied 0-0 at halftime. 10 minutes into the 2nd half Brenna Foster slid a ball through the defensive line onto the foot of Maddy Spadafora and she found the back of the net to go up 1-0. 15 minutes later Penn United tied the game on a PK. The Tigers defense had an unlucky foot tangle which brought down the striker.

After two 45 minute halves, regular time ended 1-1.

The teams played two 15 minute overtime periods and the score remained 1-1.

The championship would be decided by a PK shootout.

The first four attempts for the Tigers found the back of the net. Penn United made their first goal but were stopped on their 2nd and 3rd attempts by Audrey Schweizerhof of the Blue Tigers to seal the shootout, 4-1.
